OOCL ships switch to low sulfur fuel – 07.11.2018

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), one of the world’s largest container shipping and logistics services providers, decided to abandon the installation of scrubbers on its ships. Instead, OOCL decided to use low-sulfur fuel.

This decision was made in connection with the new IMO requirements.

Recall that starting from 2020, according to the new requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the allowable level of sulfur in marine fuel should be no more than 0.5%.
