One of China’s top busiest port will be shortly facing troubles in logistics since this year China is hosting “Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)” summit in Qingdao city within June 09-10.

According to the local sources in Qingdao following temporary rules are implemented by government:

* tuckers will need to stop container deliveries within city limits/port during June 06 – June 12;
* vessel navigation within the main channel at Qingdao port will/could be temporary restricted (when necessary) within June 06 – June 12;
* deliveries of main kind of dangerous cargoes (except classes No.8, 9) in containers and/or break bulk will be prohibited from June 01 up to June 20(if necessary);
* work cycles of some factories (mainly those who have strong pollution) will be suspended to improve environment starting May 31 up till June 12;

Taking into account above said Chinese exporters warn customers about possible delays in production and/or shipments. Also some container lines already reported that will be offering extended free time for container shipments going via Qingdao port – for instance Maersk line declared export shipments loaded on the vessels with ETD from Jun 06 to Jun 17 (both dates inclusive) from Qingdao Port will entitle for 14 Calendar Days of extended container free.

* June 18 – Dragon Boat Festival;
* September 24 – Mid Autumn Festival;
* October 01-05 – National Day Holiday;
* October 17 – Chung Yeung Festival;
