Chinese New Year – China’s Longest Public Holiday coming – 18.01.2019

China Republic shortly is going to start celebrating one of main country holidays – for 2019 official dates declared by government as off work are within period Feb 04 – Feb 10. Traditionally dates of actuall days off are not strictly fixed – while declared on paper for China as fact will take about 15 days of holidays total. Lots of shipper’s, truckers, logistics agents already informed that starting around Jan 30 up till around Feb 14 most of workers will be off duty.

As usual container lines increasing rates for oceam freight for shpipments prior startig of holidays since all the buyers trying to close deals before China off work. The same time shippers also will be starting facing delays in shipment due to lack of truckers/employes which shortly start travelling back to home towns for celebrations.

Taking into account above said we highly recommend our import customers to start pushing shippers to close current orders way in advance and trying best to arrange shipments way before declared dates of holidays to avoid last minute shipments and risks as fact for cargo to stuck before holidays are over. For our export customers we trying to obtain additional free time at destination for parcels arriving to China while holidays – it is normal practice of cotainer line to proceed for such option basis long waiting due to Holidays.
