Briefly regarding situation at ports and Ukraine railway

    Export season ex Ukraine has just started and unfortunately Ukraine railway already facing serious issues for organizing delivery of flows. Briefly regarding situation at ports and Ukraine railway:

* Sea ports are NOT congested, waiting time for shipment containers ex port to the shipper takes abt 4-5 days after nomination received. The same time situation might change any minute once traditional for end of Spt/beg October edible oil export shipment will start taking place;

* Railway junction station which are close to Southern part of Ukraine been recently completely blocked (within Spt 11-14) – presently situation normolized but due to big flows waiting time at Junction stations in that area in average still abt 4-7 days;

* Critical situation existing traditionally with so called “short platforms” (12 meter platforms) which are in extremal shortage and unfo qtty of that kind of equipment going down each season. The only solution for shippers to update their scales for acceptance so call “long platforms” (18 meter platforms);

* Traditionally difficult situation remains at West part of Ukraine (Lviv area) where serious shortage of locomotives still exists which as fact leads to long delivery terms betwenn junction stations;

* Average index of wagon round trip within Ukraine nowadays 12% longer then 2019 figures for same period;

     Taking into account above said pls take into mind following aspects while planning your shipments ex/to Ukraine:

* It is not expected that Ukraine railway will be improved in closest future – during high export season round trips ex port and back will take about 18 up to 28 days;

* To to prevent delays of shipment ex/to ports pls always do your best to give nomination in advance earliest possible;

* While placing FOB bookings for export or CIF bookings for import try to agree with your agents max possible free time for containers use out of port (optimal for import to be not lower 21-24 days and for export 24-28 days);
