Autumn holidays in China

One of the main holiday in China (National Day Golden Week holiday) is coming – Chinees shippers got a little time before whole country will go on long holidays – factories are closed and truck drivers are gone home. So far manufacturers already working hard to clear the stocks and closing balance orders – which means rapid increase in container export volumes. The same time no serious rates increases expected before holidays – still some small step up might take place.

Schedule for the coming holidays is following:
• September 22-24 – Mid Autumn (Hong Kong offices will close for one day only, the 25th September);
• October 1-7 National Day Golden Week;

To avoid risk of ocean rate increase (which this year before holidays is rather poor) as well as risk of last minute notice from shipper that due to absence of workers or drivers shipment to be postponed after holiday our suggestion for all the importers who currently have orders to make bookings on vessels with ETS Spt 15-25 and not to leave shipments on “last” September vessels.
